Hello!

My name is Douglas Gavelin, I'm 33 years old and live in Uppsala, Sweden. I grew up in Sweden, USA and England and speak English fluently.

I am a multi-talented digital artist who wants to break into the gaming industry. I've been making games all my life and I think I have a lot to offer.

I have always had a great passion for games and graphic design and spend almost all of my spare time working on creative projects like games, 3D animation, apps, wallpapers, and web development. I code, design and animate. I recently received a diploma as Unreal Engine Creator from House of Minds. I'm currently studying game design at Futuregames in Stockholm.

My game The Awakening got 2 million plays and a rating of 9/10. I have about a dozen other popular browser games.
I create 3D art and animations and have thousands of followers on social media, my animations have 8 million views.
I have an Album Cover Generator that creates 200,000 album covers per month, around 3,500 of those get downloaded.
I have a Band Name Generator that creates 25,000 names per month.
My website gets 120,000 visitors and 6 million page hits per year.
My work has thousands of upvotes on reddit.

Games

I've created browser games using Adobe Flash, designed, drew, scripted and programmed from scratch by me.

My RPG game The Awakening was a passion project that I worked on for almost 4 years.
It became a big success with 2 million plays across all sites it was published on. I released the game in 2014 and I still get emails from fans who want to show their appreciation for the game. It has a rating of 9/10 on the sites I published it on.

I have about a dozen other popular browser games.

I make fan art and animations in Blender and Source Filmmaker. I haven't created these models, they are all exported from the game Life is Strange. I have thousands of followers on social media who like my Life is Strange projects, my animations have 8 million views.

Web development and apps

Through my work and my hobbies I've taught myself HTML, PHP, Javascript, JQuery, MYSQL and Actionscript. Using these skills I've created websites, games and various name generators in my spare time.

I work as a full time frontend- and system developer at Personlig Almanacka Nordic AB. I built and maintained the website personligalmanacka.se and its international domains. I've also made four browser games for the company that became huge successes among our customers!

My website gets 120,000 visitors and 6 million page hits per year. I've also built websites for Monika Klum, composer and pianist Carl Michael Bergerheim and the daycare business Småkottarna.

My most popular name generators are the Band Name Generator and the Album Cover Generator. These apps are what draws most traffic to my website, 200 000 covers are created every month. Around 3,500 of those get downloaded.
I think my Album Cover Generator is a unique blend of a lot of things I like; art, typography and coding.

Photos / Videos

I've had a huge interest in photography and have filmed my travels through Sweden and Norway. In 2020 I bought a drone and have filmed some nature scenery around Uppsala and Sweden's fjäll landscapes. I filmed the top of Kebnekaise mountain with my drone among other things. My photos have been used by Orphei Drängar in their marketing and on their site od.se.
